ICAN Guest Blog: BOOK REVIEW – Heather Cushman-Dowdee (and friends), “Simply Give Birth” So let me just say it: I don’t own stock in Heather’s fabulous creative brain and therefore don’t benefit from this at all. But I want you to buy this book. I want you to buy this book even if you are burnt out on birth stories, or think you are. I want you to buy this book and share it with friends and leave it “accidentally” in places where people might really need to see it. by Krista Cornish Scott
I just got my (autographed!) copy of “Simply Give Birth” in the mail last night and basically ran around the dining room squeeeing. I meant to only read one story and then one more and before I knew it, I’d been reading in bed for two hours and I’d finished the book. Love it! (and you.)
I can’t wait to pass this around to my pregnant friends. Thank you for collecting such amazing, powerful stories into such an awesome book. —Sara N
Simply Give Birth is a new book of inspiring birth stories collected by the brilliant Heather Cushman-Dowdee of Hathor the Cowgoddess fame. It includes more than 30 birth stories collected to inspire strength and empowerment in birth, rather than inspiring the kind of dread that comes from watching those scary birth shows on The Discovery Channel. —Kirsten
book review: simply give birthAs I’ve lent this book out to various friends, they’ve all enjoyed it. I usually get the book back within days; that’s how addicting it is! And upon receiving it again, I hear praise of how wonderful of a book it is. It’s enjoyable and fun. You need to read it. Request it for your birthday or for the holidays. Or just buy it. That’s a good idea too. — Tophat writing on It’s All about the Hat
